Student life

Along with intensive study and research work RTU provides students with the opportunity to get involved in an entire range of extra-curricular activities. Students can approve themselves at different artistic amateur groups, in sports activities, as well as working in student self-governments and parliament.

The goal of RTU Student Service is to provide centralised services to students.

RTU Campus and Faculty Map

RTU is the first higher education institution in Latvia that already in 1965 began construction of campus at Ķīpsala.

ICD Office

The RTU International Cooperation Department (ICD) is the RTU structural unit, which has been working with International students coming from all around the world for more than 20 years.

Sport

At RTU sports activities are compulsory for all first-year students, and each student can select the most attractive activity from a wide range of sports: swimming, boxing, track and field athletics, movement therapy, wrestling, artistic gymnastics, aerobics, basketball, volleyball or indoor football.

Student Parliament

Student Parliament is the oldest student self-government in Latvia, founded on 23 April 1992. Student Parliament is engaged in improvement of study quality and study environment, organizes different extra-curricular activities, consults the students on topical questions as well as cooperates with other student organizations in Latvia and abroad.

Robotics Club

The RTU Robotics Club unites robot building enthusiasts. The clubs goal is to generate interest about robots and the associated industries, such as electronics, mechanics and programming, as well as to further the robotics movement in Latvia, to train new robot builders and to build world class robots.
