Growing demand for modern and complex industrial machinery, machine tools, robotics and computer-controlled processes require highly qualified technologists for their development, manufacture, use and support. Specialists in mechanical engineering are professionals who are concerned with the principles of force, energy and motion. The study programme provides deep understanding of fundamentals of Mechanics. Moreover, it places a strong emphasis on analytical engineering science and technical fundamentals, which require the ability to apply core mathematical skills.
During the first two years students master the basic education study courses: mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, materials science, theoretical mechanics, strength of materials, etc. The third year includes Specialized courses such as: numerical analysis of the mechanical engineering, machine dynamics and strength, process management methods and tools, rigid and deformable body mechanics.
Acquired skills of theoretical calculations and computer applications help to solve problems in mechanics and lab experiments creating a solid basis for a further career in industry or further studies in a master programme.
Engineering technology, mechanics and mechanical engineering bachelors have great employment opportunities for both local and international projects that require experience in combustion, noise and vibration control processes, energy extraction technologies, robotics, quality management, bioengineering, aeronautics, fluid mechanics, water supply, machinery and equipment maintenance planning, consumer product design, pollution control and mechanical synthesis of new materials.
In addition, designers and mechanical engineers can work in companies involved in packaging industry, automation of industrial processes. There are graduates who pursue their career as experts in insurance companies and municipal enterprises.
It is possible to continue studies in a two-year full-time Master’s study programme or in similar study programmes abroad.
