The GENERAL ENGLISH FOUNDATION (FS) has been designed for students, who intend to improve English proficiency and continue studies in the study programmes offered by Riga Technical University or any other EU universities
Applicants are requested to present a copy of an Internationally recognized English certificate

After the Foundation period, students shall pass the International exam (min B2 level) to qualify for the studies in their selected Full-time study programme.
The program has been designed to improve English proficiency level to provide a realistic environment within which students can develop the skills to start and manage the study process in the degree programmes effectively.
Note:
- The purpose of this chart is intended only to provide minimum results to enter FS. This chart is not to be quoted or used for official English language proficiency test score comparison purposes.
- Prospective students should note that full educational background will be taken into consideration for admission purposes.

Note:
Please note: At least 60% of maximum possible results is expected in order to qualify for studies at RTU.
To proceed with further examination application fee shall be paid.
Application fee is EUR 150 (non-refundable) per student. Online application will be processed only after application fee received.
NOTE: Candidate pays all bank commission fees for international transfer.
Once the first 2 steps have been fulfilled an invitation to complete Video interview will be sent via online application system.
Also a request to do online entrance examinations are sent out (if applicable).
After receiving all required documents the university sends those to ENIC/NARIC Center for evaluation. The ENIC/NARIC Center evaluates foreign qualifications. This process may take time up to 1 month. Several cases may take longer.
Results on admission are informed after all the above steps of application process have been done.

* Accommodation, travel and living expenses, health insurance are covered by an applicant.
Latvian Language (optional) for extra charge – 3 CP (4.5 ECTS)
History and Culture of Latvia (optional) for extra charge – 2 CP (3 ECTS)
