Introduction to the Summer School
Live here and today! It is not just a moment what we spend on the Earth anymore. Modern living associates not only with technologies, the internet, and unprecedented opportunities, but it anticipates that humans should think about the next generations that will inhabit our planet after us. It is becoming more common that humans choose sustainability as one of the main goals of life.
In theory, the concept of “sustainability” is easily understandable – meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to content their needs. The theory is one thing, but what about practical issues? Are we ready to take steps forward that leave no trace and ecological footprints?
Summer school 3 Pillars of Sustainability focus on topics that are confirmed by all 193 members states of the United Nations. During two weeks of summer school participants, university lectures, and industry representatives will discuss topics related to three issues: responsible consumption and production, affordable and clean energy, and clean water and sanitation.
During the summer school students will have lectures that are mixed with practical workshops. In order to strengthen and enhance the newly acquired knowledge, students will have the opportunity to go on excursions to companies that follow the sustainable development. In addition, the summer school’s participants will be able to take part in cultural and leisure time activities.
