EUt+ Week Takes Place At Technical University of Sofia

The EUt+ week took place in Sofia, Bulgaria on January 16th – 20th. The focus of the week was to complete an application for the second phase of funding which is due in January 2023 and to work on specific work packages.

During the week different seminars and workshops were organized within multiple work packages, including focus on architecture and industrial engineering clusters. In addition, rectors meeting and steering committee meetings were organized.

Within work package 1: Project management support, a summary on phase one was developed, additionally, all kinds of reports from all partner-universities were put together and comprehensive summary was done on the things achieved during first phase of the project. All of this was done to help prepare for phase two of the project. Moreover, discussions about midterm reports, previous projects, EUt+ budget for 2nd phase, as well as issues from 1st phase took place during this week.

Within work package 5: Beyond mobility, work was done on continued development of student ePortfolio. This is currently under development for students to create a modern CV, with extensive information about their studies, how each course reflects to their final learning outcomes, as well as on their personal and professional experiences. The idea of ePortfolio is to allow students to reflect on their learnings and experiences, as well as on their mobilities completed at the partner universities.

This week was also the opportunity for EUt+ rectors to meet the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel. At this occasion, the rectors signed the Sofia Declaration, a document that reinforces the commitment of the alliance towards the realisation of its mission. Also, EUt+ rectors signed in Sofia two agreements, one on the creation of the EUt+ European Graduate Research School, and another on the EUt+ Open Research Statement.
