The Riga King Sejong Institute held a completion ceremony
The Riga King Sejong Institute, operated by the Riga Technical University under the commission of the King Sejong Institute Foundation, held a completion ceremony for the spring semester of the Korean language course at the Kronvalda Small Auditorium for two days on June 15th and 16th. Ambassador Seong-Jin Han of Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Latvia attended and congratulated students.This semester, one beginner class (Laura Lapina) and one intermediate class (Olga Judina) were selected as excellent students and received the special prize of the ambassador. The Deputy Rector for International Academic Cooperation and Studies of the Riga Technical University Mr. Igors Tipāns also encouraged the students.
This semester started online classes from the third week of March due to Covid-19. Even in difficult circumstances, 68 beginners and 25 intermediate students level completed. In particular, this semester was completed by six intermediate students who have been attending King Sejong Institute for four years. When the King Sejong Institute opened, they entered as freshmen and completed the two-year course of the beginner’s class, two-year intermediate classes. We hope these students will be able to contribute to the exchange between Latvia and Korea. I hope that the Riga King Sejong Institute will be able to fulfill the role of bridge between Latvia and Korea as well as spreading Korean and Korean culture.
