Summer School “Nonlinear Life. Edition 3” Organized by RTU and University of Trieste

On Friday, 30 August, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Italy H.E. Ms. Solvita Āboltiņa paid a visit to Trieste, Italy to address a speech on the occasion of the conclusion of the international summer school “Nonlinear Life. Edition 3” organized by University of Trieste (UniTs) and Riga Technical University (RTU).

Afterwards, there has been hold a meeting between representatives of UniTs and RTU (organizing committee of the summer school) led by S. Āboltiņa and Pro-Rector of UniTs, professor Valter Sergo.

At the end of the visit, S. Āboltiņa, Director of Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Nanotechnologies of RTU, professor Jurijs Dehtjars and representative of International Cooperation Unit of RTU, Mr Ēriks Badamšins have proceeded towards the Municipality of Trieste, in order to meet the Councilor for European Projects, Mr. Lorenzo Giorgi and Head of Communication Office Ms. Barbara Borsi.

 

The organizational committee expresses gratitude to the professors for contributing to the scientific content of summer school, advanced research institutions and companies operating in the biomedical field for provision of the excursions and demonstrations and students for participating and broadening each other’s knowledge from a technical and cross-cultural communication understanding point of view.

 

The summer school has been attended by 18 students from 11 countries – Belarus, Czech Republic, India, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Nepal, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Spain. In the previous two years, the summer school took place in Riga and was initiated and organized by the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Nanotechnologies in cooperation with International Cooperation and Foreign Students Department of RTU.
